Meet Yasmin, she’s a vintage Beni Mguild rug with a soft and plush feel. It features beautiful soft peach and pink on a brown-green background, with hints of white. Notice the subtle diamond pattern that reveals itself through the use of different pile lengths. It’s really soft and in beautiful vintage condition.
The Beni Mguild tribe is located in the Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Beni Mguild rugs come in many background colours. Their rugs tend to be plush, to provide warmth and comfort during the winter months.
Moroccan rugs were initially made for personal use. They were meant to last for decades and often handed down from generation to generation. This level of craftmanship could take up to weeks or even months to complete a single rug. The design is a combination of traditional Amazigh symbols with the interpretation and imagination of the weaver. Every piece is unique.
