Meet Thasa, this beautiful vintage Beni Ouarain is a true piece of art, with colours that combine perfectly together. She features pink, turquoise, green, blue, mustard, white and beige and is in excellent condition. Want to add a touch of joy to your home? Then this beautiful rug is for you.
Beni Ouarain rugs were created by a confederation of 17 Berber tribes in the Middle Atlas mountains of Morocco. The rugs were made to keep them warm in the harsh weather conditions in the mountains during winter. The sheep that are raised here on high altitude produce an extra soft and dense wool.
Moroccan rugs were initially made for personal use. They were meant to last for decades and often handed down from generation to generation. This level of craftmanship could take up to weeks or even months to complete a single rug. The design is a combination of traditional Amazigh symbols with the interpretation and imagination of the weaver. Every piece is unique.
Please note | Vintage items may show slight signs of wear or fading. These are a part of each items’ unique history and add to its authenticity and character. Anything of note is included in the listing and pictures. All rugs are cleaned and if needed repaired before leaving Morocco.
Please do not hesitate to ask for more details on a specific rug.
