M'Rirt is the region where the most luxurious Berber rugs are made nowadays. They are plush and densely knotted and breathe a luxurious feel.
Moroccan rugs were initially made for personal use. They were meant to last for decades and often handed down from generation to generation. This level of craftmanship could take up to weeks or even months to complete a single rug. Every piece is unique. The new rugs are still created using the same traditional techniques.
