Marmoucha is the name of a small tribe that neighbours the more widely known Beni Ouarain tribes. They are famous for their large-sized rugs that are densely woven and are made with incredible attention to detail.

Moroccan rugs were initially made for personal use. They were meant to last for decades and often handed down from generation to generation. This level of craftmanship could take up to weeks or even months to complete a single rug. The design is a combination of traditional Amazigh symbols with the interpretation and imagination of the weaver. Every piece is unique.

Please note Vintage items may show slight signs of wear or fading. These are a part of each items’ unique history and add to its authenticity and character. Anything of note is included in the listing and pictures. All rugs are cleaned and if needed repaired before leaving Morocco.

Please do not hesitate to ask for more details on a specific rug.
