This Azilal runner makes subtle use of colour on a creamy base. It features brown, soft green and indigo blue borders and has a nice thick and fluffy feel. It’s a unique piece and in excellent condition.
Azilal rugs are usually quite vibrant, colourful, and are always in the mood to make a statement.
Moroccan rugs were initially made for personal use. They were meant to last for decades and often handed down from generation to generation. This level of craftmanship could take up to weeks or even months to complete a single rug. The design is a combination of traditional Amazigh symbols with the interpretation and imagination of the weaver. Every piece is unique.
