Founder of Knuup

 Knuup is founded out of my passion for travel, interior design and unique objects. 

To me, well-made Moroccan rugs are true works of art. The items you'll find in my collections have all evoked a spark in me in one way or another. I genuinely believe in authentic craftsmanship and high-quality natural products, and I'm happy to have found this in Morocco. 

The vintage rugs in my collection are pieces of history. The new rugs let ancient weaving traditions continue to exist. Which is why I value both. Wether it's a new or a vintage piece, it's full of character and history. Each piece is unique.

With Knuup, I aspire to bring these unique items within the reach of people that can appreciate them just as much as I do. 

I personally hand-pick each rug in Morocco. Be it for myself or for others, I love the thrill of finding that one special piece. That's also something I've been good at for as long as I can remember. 

How the story began

In 2019 we travelled to Marrakesh to find the perfect rug for our living room. It was the third time I was in Morocco. Little did I know that the fourth time would be to start my own business. 

The hunt for the perfect rug, the craftsmanship, the stay in Morocco,... It all inspired me so much. 

I've aspired to build my own business for as long as I can remember. All kinds of fear and the comfort of security withheld me from doing it for a long time. 

At a certain point I decided to go all in, take the leap of faith and follow my passion. It all clicked into place. That's when the idea of Knuup was born.
